What is talent?

This article is not an easy read, but try to read at least the bold sentences:

“Psychologist K. Anders Ericsson strongly suggests that skill emerges out of deliberate practice rather than being born in a person.”

“Ericsson’s research suggests very strongly that what is really in short supply in the cultivation of expert performance is not initial ability, but rather expert coaching and motivation to continually develop greater skill.”

I hope this article gives motivation for the coaches and players to keep practicing.
